If you're a fan of Hopi overlay, you might want to indulge in this small silver dress buckle by Hopi jeweler Lucinda Taylor because it carries a deeper significance than its good looks.

This petite buckle seamlessly incorporates an array of complex Hopi symbols, perhaps the most significant being the corn plant. For the Hopi, the importance of corn extends far beyond it's life-sustaining power as a food source. Corn plays an essential and often highly guarded role in Hopi ceremonial life.

This buckle depicts the growing of corn. On the left, you see designs that represent wind and rain bringing water to the tiny corn plant. Overtime, the plant grows to the hearty corn stalk you see on the right with the flute player celebrating the season's growth. If you look closely, you'll see little ears of corn ready to be harvested.

Lucinda Taylor's meaningful buckle measures 2 1/4" across x 1 1/2" high. It fits a 1" buckle and is hallmarked on the reverse. Wear it to appreciate all the blessings that bring you life.
